ABOUT US

Starting in 1997 with 5 families, we now have served more than 150 families in the North Bay area. We have had participating families from 5 counties, but most of our families are from Sonoma , Marin or Solano counties. Many of these children are now in remission, however, we have lost some of our children to cancer and have set up a memorial fund in their memory.  This fund is used to help finance college scholarships for surviving children and siblings.

Our goal is to provide emotional & financial support for children with cancer & their family members.

There is no other organization like ours in the Bay Area. Many parents comment: “We would have never gotten through this ordeal without your help…”

Michelle Bertrand was diagnosed with leukemia at age 8. She is now a college graduate and pediatric oncology nurse, but back then she wanted to help others going through the struggles cancer brings. Not only in terms of health, but also with relationships, school, as well as daily activities and routines. With the help of Steve Webster, she decided to form a support group for youths with cancer in June of 1997. The group welcomes any youth residing in the North Bay Area with cancer and their families. The kids help implement the program, which is not solely a support group. It is friends meeting together with common backgrounds. Together, they plan their outings and family events.

Why We Are

Together, we can share our experiences… our hopes… our fears.

Together, we can go places we want to go to and experience the FUN we don’t want to miss out on.

Together, not only do we find support, but there are separate support groups for our parents and our siblings as well.
